Once you send or join a tab, payers will be prompted to enter their phone number and display name — also quick and easy.

To scan a receipt you can:

Tabelo's scanner reads item names, prices, tax, and tip to build an accurate itemized bill for splitting.

Tabelo intelligently detects fields that may be ambiguous or unclear. When a section requires attention (for example, if a line is blurry), you'll be prompted to review or correct it before confirming the final split. You always control the final item list and totals.

After your shares are calculated, Tabelo prepares the payment details and opens Venmo with pre-filled payment amounts for each person. You simply confirm the transaction in Venmo. Tabelo does not process payments itself — Venmo handles the secure transfer.

Yes — Tabelo is completely free to use, and there are no service fees. Tabelo automatically applies tax, tip, and any discounts into each person's share, but does not charge extra fees for its service.

No. Tabelo does not hold or transfer any funds. It only calculates amounts and triggers the payment flow in Venmo for users to complete.

No. Tabelo does not store bank account or credit card details. Only minimal personal data (such as phone number, display name, and Venmo handle) is stored and encrypted for account and tab management.

Tabelo's receipt scanner is highly accurate — typically around 90% accuracy — even with varied formats. If a receipt is poorly photographed or formatted unusually, Tabelo will highlight specific fields for you to review before finalizing the split.

Tabs remain in your Tabelo account history indefinitely unless you request deletion. This makes it easy to refer back to past splits.

Yes. You can contact support to delete your account. Past tab data will remain visible to participants who were involved in those tabs for their own records. Raw receipt image data is not stored permanently.

Yes. Tabelo includes anti-abuse measures to help protect against spam and misuse.
